We also experiment with new varieties in hopes to find the best product. We have been testing around 3 to 5 new varieties each year in hopes to find the next best variety.

If you are looking to plant an acre of onion sets or garlic cloves on bare dirt we recommend a population of 70,000 to 110,000 bulbs/clove.  The preplant fertilizer we use per acre is 220 lbs. of potash (0-0-60), 280 lbs. of DAP (18-46-0), 10 lbs. of zinc 33%, 10 lbs. of boron, 10 lbs. of manganese 90%, and 20 lbs. of elemental sulfur 90%. The sidedress fertilizer we use per acre is 150 lbs. of urea (46-0-0) and 300 lbs. of AMS (21-0-0-24s).  Total nutrient 182.4 N-128.8 P-132 K-90 S-3.3 Zn-1.5 B-3.3 Mn.  We do not currently have spray recommendations consult research done on the Midwest vegetable production guide and Cornell’s integrated crop and pest management guidelines for commercial vegetable production. Remember to follow restricted use rules. Always read and understand the product label before using any pesticide.
